Acids and Chemicals
Batteries often contain acids or other harmful chemicals.
ALWAYS USE SKIN AND EYE PROTECTION, PLUS A SUITABLE FACE MASK, WHEN WORKING WITH BATTERIES.
Please ensure that any onlookers keep a safe distance from any batteries being reconditioned.
Energy
The power contained in batteries can be discharged as electrical energy or heat.
Do not short, or rapidly discharge batteries, except under intentional, safe and controlled circumstances.
If any battery becomes excessively hot please isolate it safely.
Lithium Ion Batteries
These batteries by their nature contain a lot of energy in a small volume.
Please treat them with respect.
Do not damage these batteries.
There have been rare cases of Lithium Ion batteries overheating or even bursting into flames.
While we have never seen a case of that with batteries we have used, please be aware of this possibility.
If there is any sign of excessive heat please immediately isolate the batteries where no damage can be caused.
Disposal
Dispose of all batteries responsibly, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations or your government’s recommendations.
